Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What devices is the App compatible with?

The current version of MyGullivers is designed for smartphones running Android or iOS. The minimum OS requirements are Android 4.4 and iOS8 - if your device is running a lower Operating System, we suggest you update it to the latest available version. If this doesn’t happen automatically, you will need to manually start the update from your device settings.

What if I can’t see the app on Google Play/AppStore?

Currently the MyGullivers app is designed for smartphones only. Please make sure you search the app from a compatible device for the app to show on the stores.

I’ve downloaded the app, but it isn’t letting me log in?

  1. Enter your booking reference number, including the GUPK at the start.  You can find your booking reference number on the booking confirmation that you received at the time of booking. Make sure there is no space on the end of the number
  2. Then enter your surname, with a capital letter at the start and the rest in lowercase
  3. The departure date is the date you leave on your trip (not the date you leave your trip destination)

If you have entered all the above correctly, check that you have the latest version of the app downloaded on your phone by going to your app store.

If you still can’t log in, please contact Gullivers on gullivers@gulliverstravel.co.uk, stating your name, booking reference number, departure date and which device you are trying to log in from, and we will try to help you.

How will the app help me on tour?

The MyGullivers app has been designed to be like a tour manager in the palm of your hand. Depending on what kind of package you have booked, once you have logged in, the app has the following sections:

  • Countdown to your trip - his shows the number of days it is until you depart on your Gullivers trip
  • Weather - find out the weather forecast for today at a glance in your trip destination – tap on the button and you’ll see the next five days’ forecast
  • Destination Guide - find out about your destination, including customs, culture and currency. Scroll sideways for information on getting around, what to see and where to eat and drink
  • Messages - look out for messages from the Gullivers team
  • Holiday Summary - this holds the very key information about your trip, and there’s even an option to email them to yourself or your friends and family
  • Itinerary - scroll up and down for your itinerary by day. Find out about your transport (if included in your package), transfers, functions and the match/race
  • Hotel - click on the hotel image to find out more about the hotel you’re staying in on your trip
  • Holiday Checklist - click on the + in the top right corner to add things to your to do list.  Very handy for reminders like ‘book travel insurance’!
  • Currency Converter - type in any denomination and it’ll do the exchange rate in your destination’s currency for you
  • Twitter - keep up to date with what’s happening in the world of Gullivers with our twitter feed
  • Newsfeeds - read the latest news for your favourite sports with our BBC newsfeeds

 

The latest information doesn’t seem to be showing. Why?

The app is designed to always show you the most up-to-date information. However, from time to time, outdated data might get cached on your device and be displayed despite new information being available. If you suspect this is happening, simply restarting the app should fix the issue. If the problem persists, please contact support on gullivers@gulliverstravel.co.uk.

If you have downloaded the app and have logged in way in advance of your trip, we recommend you log out and back in again approximately seven days before you are due to depart on your trip, for the latest information to refresh in your profile. 

Do I need to be online for the app to work correctly?

Yes - you will need to be online to be able to login and see / access the pre-login pages like Events, Search, Our Top Picks and Sign Up to Our Newsletter.

However, if you are already logged in and your device loses connectivity, you should still be able to access the main sections inside the app - just bear in mind that the app will not be able to download any recent updates or to perform any activity that requires connectivity.

I don’t want to receive push notifications. Can I disable them from the app?

No - you will need to disable the notifications from your device settings.

If you have an iOS device you will need to go to Settings > General > Notifications and then disable notifications for MyGullivers from there.

On Android, the Settings will vary from version to version, however you should be able to disable notifications from the Application manager (sometimes called Apps).  You will need to scroll down the list until you find MyGullivers, select it and then uncheck the Show Notifications button.
