The package prices include a Category D ticket to the first three Wales pool games. Exact locations of the tickets will be provided to us closer to the event. Upgrades to category B tickets are available, see the Ticket page for more details.

Accommodation

Our featured accommodations are all 4★. Hotels have a very limited supply of traditional double-bedded rooms and the cultural norm is for couples to have two separate single beds, rather than share a double bed. As such we are offering three room options: twin rooms, single rooms and twin rooms with a preference for a double room.

Flights

We will be using a number of reputable airlines within our packages. An economy seat is included in your package as standard. Upgrade your seat to Premium Economy for £1,200pp and to Business Class for £3,300pp. Emirates are the Official Airline of Rugby World Cup 2019™.

Transfers

Airport and match transfers will be by coach. Likewise, we will transfer you to the relevant train stations when we use the fantastically efficient Bullet trains to get around the country.

To ensure you enjoy your visit to Japan to its fullest we are offering a variety of optional excursions. We are launching our packages with the introductory tours that we feel will enhance your experience in Japan. We will be launching a second round of more optional extras later in the year.

Gullivers staff and on-site support

    Today the adventure begins. Check in for your international flight to Japan.

    Arrival Day

    Upon arrival into Nagoya, we will transfer you to your hotel for you to check in for your three night stay. Nagoya, located on the Pacific Coast, is Japan's fourth largest city. Much of the city was destroyed in World War II and underwent a lot of reconstruction to make it into the economic hub that it is today. It is home to some of Japan’s car giants and various museums that you can visit to get a true sense of its industrial importance, such as the Toyota Automobile Museum. In terms of cuisine, tickle your taste buds with some spicy Ogura toast, Kishimen noodle soup or hearty Sugakiya ramen. Take a wander through Sakae, Fushimi and the Nagoya Station to sample the city’s main hot spots for nightlife. This evening join your Tour Manager and the rest of your tour group for welcome drinks.

    Match Day

    This evening the action begins as Wales take on Georgia at the City of Toyota Stadium in Toyota City. We will transfer you to the the stadium from your hotel and return you to your hotel after the match. Once at the stadium, soak up the unique atmosphere that comes with a Rugby World Cup and settle in for Wales' opening game.

    Nagoya to Tokyo Metropolitan

    Today we depart Nagoya for Tokyo Metropolitan on the bullet train. This in itself is a uniquely Japanese experience. The trains always depart and arrive very punctually and travel at speeds up to 270 miles per hour. Once in Tokyo Metropolitan, we will transfer to your hotel for a 6 night stay.

    Tokyo Metropolitan

    Welcome to Tokyo Metropolitan! The capital of Japan and one of the most exciting cities in the world. Tokyo means ‘Eastern Capital’ and is made up of a patchwork of over 1000 neighbourhoods which conjoin together to create a mega metropolis. Each district has developed it’s own personality over the years which helps to refine where you choose to explore during your stay here. You have the option to book onto our guided tour of Tokyo Metropolitan city, a perfect way to familiarise yourself with this fascinating metropolitan area and take in some of it's most interesting sights. There is also the option to book onto our guided tour to Hakone and Lake Ashi, giving unparalleled views of Mount Fuji.

    This afternoon Wales take on Australia at Tokyo Stadium in the second pool match of the tournament. We will provide return transfers from the hotel to the stadium.

    Experience travel by bullet train once more as we journey from Tokyo Metropolitan to Kanazawa, one of Japans best preserved historical cities, where you are staying for two nights.

    Kanazawa

    Kanazawa is a popular tourist destination. The city translates as the ‘stream of gold’ which is fitting as almost all of Japans gold comes from here. Indeed it is famed for its gold, gardens and Geisha. There are two Geisha districts, Higashi Chaya and Nishi Chaya, either side of the city which visitors gather to, hoping to catch a glimpse of Geisha. Not forgetting the Nagamachi Samurai quarter which is considered to be one of the best in Japan due to its well preserved streets and buildings. Kanazawa is well known for its three tea districts; Higashiyama, Nishichaya-gai and Kazue-machi. This ancient ritual of preparing and serving tea is sure to get your taste buds going for when you venture into the Katamachi district – known as ‘The Scramble’ which is packed with people, shops, restaurants and lively bars.

    Kanazawa to Kyoto

    Today we leave Kanazawa feeling refreshed and immersed in the Japanese culture to head for Kyoto for three nights, a city which has one of the worlds largest collections of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

  • Day 14–15

    Kyoto

    Kyoto, meaning capital city, reflecting on its 1000 year history as the imperial city of Japan, is located on the central part of the island of Honshu. It’s significance in Japanese history resounds throughout the city. It was saved from bombing in World War II and as a result has many historical buildings in tact which attract thousands of tourists year on year. There are many ancient temples, tea ceremony masters, traditional ryokan inns and centuries old craftsmanship, flower arranging, zen rock gardens and mysterious Geisha…which all make Kyoto a truly mesmerising place to visit. You have the option to book onto our guided tour of Kyoto, a perfect way to familiarise yourself with this beguiling city.

    Kyoto to Hiroshima

    Today we leave Kyoto behind for travel by Bullet train to one of the top tourist destinations in the country for two nights; Hiroshima.

    Hiroshima

    Upon arrival into Hiroshima you will most certainly want to pay a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in the Peace Park to identify and pay respect to the damage caused by the atomic bomb in 1945. A must see is the Genbaku Dome which is the only structure left standing at Ground Zero, now a memorial to the destructive nature of the bomb.

    Just a short journey from Hiroshima is the World Heritage island of Miyajima which has been a holy place of Shintoism stretching back hundreds of years. An absolute must-see on Miyajima is the Itsukushima shrine with its famous red gate which seems to float on the water.

    Hiroshima to Fukuoka City

    Today we depart Hiroshima for your final tour destination, Fukuoka City, by Bullet train.

    Situated on the Northern Shore of Kyushu island, Fukuoka is a fun-loving, modern and cosmopolitan city and during Rugby World Cup, Fukuoka city is the place to be. All of the supporters will be staying in Fukuoka city and travelling into Oita on match days.

    This city has a relaxed vibe with the perfect blend of chic boutiques, laid back bars and glorious cuisine.

The Grand Nikko Daiba Hotel Tokyo is a new hotel situated in the Tokyo Bay area. Opened in 2016, the hotel enjoys wonderful views across Tokyo including the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower. At just a 20 minute monorail and train ride away from JR Tokyo Station this is a great resort hotel to enjoy whilst on holiday. Odaiba has wonderful shopping and restaurants but for those looking to eat in the hotel The Grill on 30th offers spectacular views from the 30th floor. This hotel is very well reviewed by western visitors to Tokyo.
