  • Day 1

    Arrive Christchurch

    Make your own way to your hotel, where you will be staying for 8 nights on a B&B basis.

    Christchurch is a vibrant city offering spectacular culture and heritage. This evening, join with other tour group members and staff for welcome drinks.

    Join with other Gullivers tour members and staff for an informal welcome to New Zealand and the 2024 cricket tour.

  • Day 2

    Day at Leisure

    A day at leisure to enjoy in Christchurch. The Botanical Gardens in Hagley Park are a great way to experience some of the local flora, or the gondola offers breath-taking views of Christchurch and beyond.

    The Riverside Market in the CBD is also a popular choice, offering plenty of food vendors, unique arts and crafts, and local produce.

  • Day 3-7

    1st Test Match

    It's finally here! With the ground a short walk from your hotel, make your own way to the Hagley Oval for each day of the Test.

    The last Test match England played here ended in a draw, though Mark Wood did get his only Test match half-century to date.

  • Day 8

    Christchurch to Nelson

    Today we check out of our Christchurch hotel to drive north to Nelson, via the Lewis Pass. On the way there we will stop at Hanmer Springs Thermal pools to enjoy a quick soak! The journey will take approximately five and a half hours, excluding the time we spend at Hanmer Springs.

  • Day 9

    Day at Leisure

    A day at leisure to enjoy Nelson.

    Explore the Abel Tasman National Park - the sheltered bays of the park are great for sea kayaking. Nelson Tasman is where most of the hops in New Zealand are grown, so make sure you sample some of the local produce!

  • Day 10

    Nelson to Wellington

    Today we head to Wellington ahead of the second Test. 

    We will transfer by coach to Picton, where we will board a comfortable ferry that is often described as one of the most scenic ferry journeys in the world. The boat journey lasts about three and a half hours, and when we disembark on the North Island, we will transfer as a group to the hotel in Wellington, where we will be staying for six nights on a B&B basis.

  • Day 11-15

    2nd Test Match

    Each morning transfer with the group to the Basin Reserve for all five days of the second Test. At the end of each day's play, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

    This was the venue for The Black Caps astonishing victory in 2023, by one run!

Hagley Oval is set against the stunning natural backdrop of the well-established trees and fields of Hagley Park. The ground pays tribute to the cricketing history of Canterbury, celebrating it's famous players - most notably Sir Richard Hadlee.

2nd Test Match - Wellington

One of the most popular cricket grounds in the world, and is labelled as a Historic Area in New Zealand. Turned from a swamp into a cricket ground in 1857, it's the oldest Test cricket stadium in New Zealand, and is also the location where now England coach Brendon McCullum scored his famous 302 in 2014. The New Zealand Cricket Museum is also housed on-site, displaying cricket memorabilia and a reference library.

Abel Tasman National Park - Day Excursion

Abel Tasman National Park is renowned for it's golden beaches, sculptured granite cliffs, and world famous coastal track.

Departing Nelson at 7am, board the coach shuttle from your hotel to Kaiteriteri Beach. Here we will board a cruise to Tonga Island Marine Reserve. The seal colony on the island will provide some great photo opportunities, then we will continue to Tōtaranui along the remote northern beaches.

From here, return to historic Tonga Quarry Beach to enjoy a walk along the waterfall trail around the stunning Bark Bay Inlet. A water taxi will collect us from Medlands Beach to return us back to the coach.

This excursion includes a picnic lunch and will return at approximately 6pm.

Please note: reaching many of these stunning viewpoints requires quite a lot of walking.
