Everything you need to know about the 2027 Rugby World Cup pool phase & round of 16.

The highly anticipated Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 is set to be one of the most competitive and exciting tournaments in the event’s history, kicking off with a landmark opening match in Perth Australia.

World-class rugby will be played across seven iconic Australian cities, with matches hosted at legendary venues including Adelaide Oval, Adelaide | Tartanya and North Queensland Stadium, Townsville | Guramibillbarra.

The 2027 tournament introduces an all NEW, exciting new format, featuring 52 matches across 43 action-packed days, so more match play than ever before, whilst, increasing player welfare. 

The match schedule features an incredible seven consecutive weekends of gameplay, making it easier than ever for international and home supporters to travel and experience elite rugby on Australian soil.

Pool A : 

Hosts Australia against close rivals New Zealand is sure to be one to watch, and another history making game! Of course, no one will be missing opening match Australia V Hong Kong China at Perth Stadium, Perth | Boorloo. 

Pool B : 

South Africa the current rugby world champs are definitely the favourite in this group, and 2nd place is up for grabs between Georgia, Italy and Romania. 

Pool C : 

Argentina are the favourites to top Pool C, but are Fiji going to let that happen? Sure to be a great match at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide | Tartanya seeing these giants go head to head. 

Pool D: 

With Ireland V Scotland, will we see a repeat of the 2026 Men’s Guinness Six Nations score? Two ‘home nations’ for the UK, causing chaos on the pitch on Sunday 10th November at Perth Stadium, Perth | Boorloo,  a rivalry to keep an eye on. 

Pool E : 

The French team are expected to top the group, but anything can happen when we head ‘down under’ in 2027. Second place will be a hard fight between the remaining teams within this pool, particularly Japan V Samoa at Newcastle Stadium, Newcastle | Awakbakal-Worimi. 

Pool F : 

Another repeat of a memorable 2026 Guinness Men’s Six nations game will take place here, with England V Wales putting on a huge show, a rivalry known worldwide. Will Wales get the opportunity to flip the score on it’s head and earn a win against the England Team?
