As rugby fans eagerly await the 2025 British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia, excitement continues to build around who will make the cut for one of rugby’s most prestigious squads.

Ahead of the next tour, our team have carried out research to find out which current Premiership Rugby clubs have boasted the most Lions call-ups over the years. Our analysis uncovered some fascinating insights.

Which Premiership Rugby club have had the most British & Irish Lions call-ups?

Our research reveals that Leicester Tigers have had by far the most call-ups of Lions players, with 42 players selected while at the club. This is 17 more than their closest rivals, Northampton Saints, who have had 25 players called up for Lions duty over the years. Harlequins are in third place with just one less call-up (24).

While Leicester’s lead at the top of the league table of Lions’ call-ups looks safe for some time, there could potentially be some changes in second and third place – depending on how many Northampton or Harlequins players get the much-anticipated call from Andy Farrell in the Spring.

While the main table above looks at the all-time Lions call-ups by club, we also compiled a separate, “modern-era” focused table, showing the top clubs by Lions call-ups since the start of the Premiership in 1997.

While Leicester still top this table (21 Lions call-ups since 1997), its Saracens (14) rather than Northampton (11) who take second place.
