New Zealand and India lead the way in their respective pools.

The 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup may only be a week old but there has already been plenty of action.

Familiar feelings have come over the England team as they lurch from the humbling to embarrassing, and they have only played three games. Hosts New Zealand and defending champions India led the way in their respective pools with 100 per cent records. Pakistan have been surprisingly poor and are without a point joining the United Arab Emirates, Scotland and Afghanistan pointless

As the World Cup enters in second week, here is our round-up of the past seven days in Australia and New Zealand.

    Early pace setters

Both New Zealand and India have started strongly leading Pool A and Pool B respectively. The co-hosts kicked off the tournament with a 98-run win against Sri Lanka in Christchurch. Inspired by the batting and bowling of Corey Anderson, New Zealand dismissed Sri Lanka for 233 as they looked to chase 331 for 6.

A routine victory over a stubborn Scotland side was followed by a demolition job of hugely disappointing England. Tim Southee tore through the England batting order taking seven wickets with just 33 runs conceded. He became just the fourth man in World Cup history to take a wicket count of this ilk in a World Cup match. Chasing 123, New Zealand hit 125 for 2 in just 12.2 overs.

In Pool B, India lead the way with two wins out of two. Kicking off with a 76-run win over the old enemy Pakistan, Virat Kohli hit 107 of 126 balls while Mohammed Shami claimed four Pakistan wickets. They were successful once again in Melbourne against South Africa. Shikhar Dhawan scored 137 as India set 307 for 7, their opponents could only manage 177 all out.

India are ahead of the West Indies, who sit in second, but the two-time World Cup winners suffered a huge upset at the hands of minnows Ireland. The Irish won by four wickets in Nelson after beating the Windies' total of 304 with four wickets to spare.

    Looking ahead

Hosts Australia will be looking to get back on track after starting well with a win over England but were left frustrated when their game against Bangladesh became only the second game in World Cup history to be called off due to heavy rain in Brisbane. The Aussies face New Zealand in Auckland on Saturday (February 28th).

Highlights for this week include Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, South Africa vs West Indies and Afghanistan vs Scotland.
