England take on India in Brisbane on Tuesday (January 20th).

England's cricket team are looking to bounce back against India in their second one-day international (ODI) tri-series match.

Eoin Morgan's men did not get off to a good start in Australia with a three-wicket defeat to the hosts in the opening game in Sydney on Friday (January 16th). It was the captain, who took over from Alastair Cook in December, that was able to ensure it was not an embarrassing scoreline for the tourists.

Down to 0/2 in just three balls, Morgan was able to put some respectability on the target by scoring 121 off 136 balls. While the captain showed some fight in the England performance, his teammates were not capable of producing the same feat with Jos Buttler getting the second highest total with just 28.

Australia made light work of England's final score of 234 by reaching 235 in just 39.5 overs with three wickets to spare. David Warner continued to be a thorn in the side of England bowlers hitting 127 as the Aussies cruised to victory with 10.1 overs remaining.

The defeat represented England's 18th in 25 ODIs against Test-playing sides. It also kept up Australia's hoodoo over Morgan's side, the Ashes holders have now won 11 of the past 13 meetings with England. The tourists must now dust themselves and go again when they face India on Tuesday in Brisbane.

India have already tasted defeat in their World Cup preparations. Despite the batting heroics of Rohit Sharma, India lost by four wickets to Australia in the other ODI tri-series game. Sharma hit an impressive 138 as the tourists set a total of 267/8 for the hosts to chase. Where it was Warner who posed the biggest threat to England, it was the turn of Aaron Finch to dominate the Indian bowlers.

Finch hit 96 while Shane Watson and Steve Smith chipped in with 41 and 47 respectively to give Australia a total of 269/6, winning the game by four wickets.

India will be looking for revenge over England after losing the Test series during the summer months. The tourists did get a bit of retribution beating the hosts in the following ODI series and they will be looking to add to England's poor recent ODI record. The game is the first of two matches the sides will play ahead of the start of the World Cup on February 14th.
