England, Ireland and France opened their Six Nations campaign with victories.

England opened their Six Nations campaign by coming from ten points down to beat Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Stuart Lancaster's men found themselves 16-8 behind at half time but rallied to claw back the deficit and claim a 16-21 victory. In Rome, reigning champions Ireland eased to a 26-3 win over Italy while Scotland went down 15-8 to France at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

Here is our round-up of match weekend one in the 2015 Six Nations.

    Wales 16-21 England

The 2015 Six Nations kicked off at the unusual time of 20:05 GMT on Friday (February 6th) at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The opening game did not disappoint as the Welsh raced into a 13-0 lead thanks to two penalties from Leigh Halfpenny and a Rhys Webb try. England came back into it with a maiden try from Anthony Watson to send the sides in 16-8 at the break.

England looked a completely different team after the interval and stunned Wales with a superb second half display. Jonathan Joseph scored his first try while three penalties from George Ford put the visitors in the lead and ultimately gave them the win. The victory banished memories of Wales' 30-3 thrashing of England in 2013.

    Italy 3-26 Ireland

Reigning champions Ireland picked up where they left off in the Six Nations with a comfortable win over Italy in Rome. It took Joe Schmidt's side a little longer than expected to break down a stubborn Italian team but they pulled away in the final quarter thanks to tries from Conor Murray and Tommy O'Donnell.

Ireland, without the injured Sean O'Brien, started slowly and were restricted to penalties from Ian Keatley but went in 9-3 ahead at the break. Italy remained defensively right up to the closing stages before Ireland finally broke their resistance. Murray and O'Donnell went over the try line before Keatley wrapped up the victory.

    France 15-8 Scotland

Scotland lost their ninth consecutive opening Six Nations game after going down 15-8 against France in Saint-Denis. Five penalties from fly-half Camille Lopez secured the victory for the 2010 champions. While Scotland were in the game throughout, the concession of too many penalties proved their downfall.

Dougie Fife went over the line for the game's only try to take Scotland into the half trailing by just a point. However, they were not able to keep up the intensity as France edged ahead to condemn the Scottish to yet another Six Nations defeat.
