This tour package includes a stay on the Durbanville Wine Route (for the Cape Town test), 2 nights in Port Elizabeth, 2 nights on the famous Garden Route and finally, 3 nights' in Pretoria (for the Johannesburg test).

Gullivers is known for putting on events and those in New Zealand 2017 were perhaps the best yet. With a great atmosphere and true rugby camaraderie, these included events are sure to be highlights of your trip. Please note that we will endeavour to provide your size requested, however as the clothing order has been placed prior to the Lions launch we are unable to guarantee this, also some items within the merchandise pack may be unisex and therefore the nearest fit to your requested size will be allocated.

Gullivers Sports Travel have been touring to South Africa for many years both for supporters and school trips. The Gullivers team ran successful cricket tours across South Africa in 2019/2020, getting to know the country even better. This will be our third Lions trip to South Africa

To ensure you have the best possible experience on tour, you will have a Gullivers Tour Manager with your group in South Africa. The Tour Manager team are supported by an extensive office and on-site operations team.
Make your way to your departure airport to check in for your flight to South Africa.

Upon arrival into Cape Town, after clearing customs and immigration we will make the transfer to the hotel for a 3 night stay. The Protea Hotel Durbanville is located outside of Cape Town City centre on the Durbanville Wine Route and is set amongst the lush vineyards of the D'Aria Wine Estate.
Enjoy a morning at leisure to recover from your flight . Whilst here, why not make the most of the local wineries and arrange a traditional wine tasting experience including a cellar tour and vineyard lunch.
Today is also a day of celebration as all of the Gullivers Tour groups get together to enjoy an afternoon of socialising, drinks and the true spirit of rugby touring. For those that were with us in Auckland in 2017 this was a tour highlight and you can be sure of lots of singing, mingling and entertainment.
Join us at the Gullivers Festival where we will all come together in one big celebration of Rugby and celebrate the food and wine of South Africa. We will be joined by some well-known faces from previous Lions tours & enjoy the build up to the 2nd Test Match of the Series.
Today is Cape Town's turn to host a test match, the pivotal second game of the series. So much has happened in game 2 in past series, the anticipation of what can happen is what builds the excitement. Ahead of the game get together with your Tour Manager for Welcome Drinks. Get to know your tour group and tour manager, reminisce on past tours and trips and share the excitement of the big game today and magic of the British and Irish Lions tour ahead.
We will transfer from the hotel the short distance to the stadium and back after the game.
Check out of the Protea Hotel Durbanville this morning and transfer to Cape Town airport for the short flight to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, transfer with the group to the Protea Port Elizabeth hotel to check in for your 2 night stay.
Affectionally known by locals by the friendly or windy city, Port Elizabeth sits on the Indian Ocean's Algoa Bay, famed as the Bottlenose Dolphin capital of the world but also homing an extensive array of wildlife including seals and penguins. Algoa Bay also forms an important part of the migration route for Southern Right & Humpback Whales between the months of August - December. The city also features some of the countries most impressive blue flag beaches to enjoy.
On Tuesday we leave Port Elizabeth and head for Kynsna along the fantastic Garden Route for your stay at the AHA hotel the Rex. This 3 hour coastal transfer will leave you in awe as we drive through some of the most spectacular scenery the country has to offer.
Knysna is at the heart of the famous Garden Route, surrounded by Nature Reserves and National Parks. Whilst here it's worth considering booking onto a guided tour of the area or perhaps hiring a car and exploring the local towns. Plettenberg Bay just a short drive away is a lovely small beach town and a little further along is Tsitsikamma National Park. There are plenty of opportunities to be active in the region whether it be a beach/lagoon walk, a nature hike or canoeing! Back in Knysna why not wander over the bridge to Thesen Island and spend your evening at Tapas & Oysters where you can be sure of a great evening with the locals enjoying live music and hearty grub, it can get lively! Sirocco next door has been enjoyed by the Gullivers Staff for a quieter evening meal - if you can get a table overlooking the lagoon you will catch a lovely sunset.
This evening get together with your group and Tour Manager to enjoy a night of good company, good food and good drink!
Today we leave Knysna and transfer to George airport for your flight to Johannesburg ahead of the eagerly anticipated third test match of the series. On arrival into Johannesburg transfer to Pretoria for your 3 night stay at the Protea Hatfield Hotel. This hotel is located in the trendy and upmarket suburb of Hatfield and close to tourist attractions, shopping malls and sports stadiums.
Today sees the third of the Gullivers Big Event days with a rugby day. An invitational Gullivers side will take on some local sides in a day of rugby. You can be assured of great camaraderie, true rugby atmosphere, singing, raffles, mixing with the locals and rugby stories.
Bring your boots for a game or come along and support the Gullivers Barbarians at our rugby club visit in Johannesburg; a great opportunity to mix with the locals. Always a popular day out with our supporters, food will be provided after the games and we anticipate there will be plenty of opportunity for you to swap stories and out sing the Springboks supporters in their own backyard, in preparation for the final test match tomorrow.
Today marks the third and final test match of the series for the British & Irish Lions. The third test was a memorable affair in NZ in 2017, what will this game have in store? We will transfer you to the stadium from the hotel and back again after the final whistle.
This morning check out of your hotel and you will be transferred out to Johannesburg airport for your return flight home.
