The host city of Marseille is in the South of France with its foot in the Mediterranean Sea. Famous for its Old Port, beaches, and its fine mix of petanque, pastis and port culture. Known as the 2nd largest city in France, Marseille and the surrounding Provence and Mediterranean coastline will play host to some of the major fixtures of the tournament. Cavaillon is located less than an hour from Marseille in the beautiful Provence region.

Match Day

Today is a Rugby World Cup France 2023 match day.

Add to your match day experience by adding the Gullivers Clubhouse to your package. The clubhouse will be held at SportBeach, on the shore of the Mediterranean, from 3:30pm. The stadium is only a 35-minute walk or 20 minutes on the bus for your onward journey.

Make your own way to the stadium, soaking up the atmosphere that comes only with the magic of major sporting tournaments. Stade Vélodrome is 5km outside Marseille City Centre. Metro Line 2 services the stadium with specific stops for certain areas of the ground, as well as a variety of bus options. Alternatively, add a Gullivers stadium transfer to your booking and we'll get you to the match

Match Day/Day at leisure

Today sees South Africa play Scotland- you can add this ticket into your package (see pricing in the ticket tab – all optional games are subject to availability at time of booking) or alternatively enjoy a day at leisure in Cavaillon or journey into Marseille and perhaps find a local bar from which you can enjoy the match with the locals or if you are looking for something different why not consider booking a sightseeing excursion. A great place to spend many an hour in Marseille, the Old Port has a special atmosphere. If you are looking to explore outside the city Aix en Provence is only 40 minutes away and Avignon just a little further. The surrounding coastline has many beaches to be enjoyed. Gullivers will have a range of optional extras available for you to choose from closer to the tournament. If you are adding on the optional match ticket, make your own way to the stadium.

Travel to Cannes

Check out of your hotel this morning. Departing Cavaillon we will transfer you by coach to Cannes for a 4-night stay on the Riviera. Whether celeb spotting, admiring the Ferraris and Porsches or wandering along the waterfront is your thing, 4 nights in Cannes is always a good idea.

Days at Leisure

From the modest fishermen village to the cultural world-famous seaside resort, Cannes opens up the whole of the French Riviera. Monaco is just over an hour away on the train and the coastline is dotted with small and large towns that you can experience whether you are looking for a walk along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice or a swim in Antibes, relax and enjoy the Riviera. Gullivers will be offering a range of optional day trips and sightseeing excursions for you to add to your booking if you are looking to experience the area. During your stay, your Tour Manager will host a group dinner. A wonderful way to mix with the group, share rugby stories and enjoy some French cuisine! 

Cannes to Nice

Check out of your hotel this morning. Departing Cannes, we will transfer you by coach along the Riviera coast for a 3-night stay in Nice. Known as the “Capital of the Côte d'Azur”, boasting sunshine for 300 days a year and with stunning scenery of coastline or mountain backdrops wherever you turn it’s easy to see why Nice is the the Côte d’Azur's “crown jewel”.

Match Day/Day at Leisure

Today sees Wales play Final Qualifier Winner - you can add this ticket into your package (see pricing in the ticket tab – all optional games are subject to availability at time of booking) or alternatively enjoy a day at leisure in Nice, perhaps find a local bar from which you can enjoy the match with the locals or if you are looking for something different why not consider booking a sightseeing excursion. Walk the Promenade des Anglais, enjoy a coffee stop on one of the many side street cafes, take a swim in the Mediterranean; there is plenty to do in Nice itself. However, if you want to venture out the city, Monaco is just a short train ride away or heading in the other direction Cannes awaits you!. Gullivers will have a range of optional extras available for you to choose from closer to the tournament. If you are adding the optional match to your booking make your own way to the stadium.

Match Day

Today is a Rugby World Cup France 2023 match day.

Add to your match day experience by adding the Gullivers Clubhouse to your package. The Gullivers clubhouse will be hosted at the Sheraton Nice Airport Hotel from 4.00pm, taking place in the ballroom. The venue is accessible from the city centre and our central Nice hotels via public transport or taxi. The Stade de Nice is a short distance via public transport or taxi from the clubhouse.

Stade de Nice will be 10 years old in 2023 and remains committed to sustainable development. It is the first stadium in Europe to produce more energy than it uses. The stadium is a few kilometers outside of the city and best accessed by Taxi or Public transport with tramway line 3 or Bus line 95 getting you there from the city centre.

Nice to Paris

Today we depart Nice and the French Riviera for Paris. Flying up to Paris we will then transfer by coach to your hotel for a 3-night stay in the city. Welcome to France’s capital city! There is so much to see in Paris, so much in fact that the city seems to have been designed especially for the enjoyment of its visitors! Paris is the second most visited city in the world and with every visit there are new experiences to be had, whether it is cruising the Seine, ascending the Eiffel Tower, visiting the Louvre museum or finding a café bar in Montmartre from which to enjoy watching its famous painters.

Days at leisure

There are a great many sightseeing opportunities to be enjoyed in Paris whether it’s an open top bus seeing all the sights, visiting a museum or one of the many monuments of Paris. Whether exploring or relaxing, Paris is a magical city to have a couple of days to enjoy.

Gullivers will have a range of optional sightseeing excursions for you to choose from closer to the tournament.

Paris to Lille

Check out of your hotel this morning. Departing Paris, we will transfer you by coach up to Lille. In the north-east corner of France bordering Belgium, Lille has a unique identity stemmed by French art & culture and influenced by Flemish & Spanish inspiration. The city has a vibrant atmosphere coming from its population whose reputation is for being the kindest in France and for its abundance of “Estaminets” (local breweries).

Day at leisure

Enjoy a day at leisure in Lille, perhaps find a local bar from which you can enjoy the matches with the locals or if you are looking for something different why not consider booking a sightseeing excursion. A walk through the city streets towards Place du Général du Gaulle will expose you to flamboyant, gold-accentuated, architecture unique to Lille, and once your feet are tired, a trip to (at least) one of the cities ‘estimates’ (local breweries) to try some of the fantastic craft beer is a must. Gullivers will have a range of optional extras available for you to choose from closer to the tournament.

Match Day

Add to your match day experience by adding the Gullivers Clubhouse to your package. The Gullivers clubhouse will be hosted at the Café Oz in the vibrant neighbourhood of Vieux-Lille from 12pm. The venue is within walking distance of the city centre. Lille's two main stations are just a short walk away for onward connections to the Stade Pierre Mauroy.

From central Lille you can use Metro Line 1 to “Cité Scientifique” before a short walk or Metro Line 2 to “Les Prés” and an express shuttle service to best reach the stadium.
