+£150 per person

After meeting your English Speaking guide at the hotel, depart for Nara by private bus.

In the morning, visit Todai-ji Temple, one of Japan's most famous and historically significant temples and a landmark of Nara. The temple was constructed in 752 as the head temple of all provincial Buddhist temples of Japan and grew so powerful that the capital was moved away from Nara in 784 in order to lower the temple's influence on government affairs.

Until recently, Todaiji's main hall, the Daibutsuden (Big Buddha Hall), held the record as the world's largest wooden building. The massive building houses one of Japan's largest bronze statues of Buddha (Daibutsu). The 15 metres tall, seated Buddha represents Vairocana and is flanked by two Bodhisattvas.

After that, you will walk around Nara Park. The park is home to hundreds of freely roaming deer, which are considered messengers of the gods and have become a symbol of the city, even designated as a natural treasure.

Enjoy lunch at Musoan.

Continue your afternoon to Kasuga Taisha which is Nara’s most celebrated shrine. It was established at the same time as the capital and is dedicated to the deity responsible for the protection of the city. Hakone Day Trip - July 16th 2025

+£175 per person

Meet your English Speaking Guide at reception and transfer by private coach to Hakone.

Hakone is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, less than one hundred kilometres from Tokyo and is famous for its hot springs, natural beauty and the view across Lake Ashinoko of nearby Mount Fuji. The first thing you will do is to ride the replica pirate ship that cruises along Ashinoko, a lake that is formed in the caldera of Mount Hakone after the volcano’s last eruption 3000 years ago. The best views of the lake in combination with Mount Fuji can be enjoyed from this sightseeing boat cruising the lake.

Then, you will go all the way up to Mt. Owakudani, passing over sulphurous fumes and hot springs by ropeway. Today, much of the Owakudani area is an active volcanic zone. Eggs cooked in Owakudani's hot spring pools with their shells blackened by the sulphur are on sale at shops in the area, and eating one is said to prolong one's life by seven years.

Lunch at Fujiya Hotel.

Hakone is also home to many museums and parks. One of these is the Hakone Open Air Museum. The museum is famous for its harmonic balance between nature and art, featuring a sizable Picasso Collection.

After this cultural visit, you will head back to Tokyo.
