Guests arrived in Dubai for the season finale on Thursday all in very good spirits after Hamilton clinched the championship in Mexico a few weeks earlier.
Clients had a variety of hotels to choose from whilst in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In Dubai we had guests staying in The Hilton, Bonnington and Ibis Central. We also had options available for those wanting to be as close to the circuit as possible.
Friday was a day of sightseeing, where many visited the famous Burj Khlaifa, the tallest building in the world and many also visiting the Dubai Mall, where there are over 1200 retail shops!
On Saturday, we made the hour-long journey by coach to Abu Dhabi, where as soon as we got out of Dubai we were greeted by desert - it is now hard to imagine that Dubai was once like this! The racing events finished with Bottas in pole position with Hamilton second and Vettel third. After the racing, many had the choice to travel back on the early coach or others had the chance to stay late and see the band Mumford and Sons in concert.
Sunday saw us set off to the circuit at a slightly later time due to the race starting at 5pm and for many clients, it was their first time at the day/night race. Before the race, we saw a spectacular air display which was very similar to that of the Red Arrows. It was also an amazing experience to see the sun going down on the top of Abu Dhabi Hill and be immersed in what was a great atmosphere. There was no change in the front three - Bottas managed to hold off his team mate Hamilton and Vettel took third. The day ended with a fantastic firework display which was followed by a concert performance from P!NK.
Overall standings saw Hamilton win the Championship along with his team Mercedes winning the Constructors' Championship.
As we headed home, many were already discussing what would happen in the 2018 season and whether Hamilton would win yet another championship!
