Check-in at Edinburgh Airport for your flight to Nice. On arriving in Nice we will transfer you by coach to your hotel where you can check in for the first 3 nights of your 8 night Rugby World Cup France 2023 trip. Nice is at the heart of the ‘Cote d’Azur’ and as such is a renowned holiday spot. Surrounded by stunning coastline and beaches and home to the famous Promenade des Anglais, the old town and its central square ‘Nissa la Bella’ (meaning the beautiful Nice) is sure to be a popular spot during RWC23.

Match Day

Today is a Rugby World Cup France 2023 match day.

Add to your match day experience by adding the Gullivers Clubhouse to your package. The Gullivers clubhouse will be hosted at the Sheraton Nice Airport Hotel from 1.30pm, taking place in the rooftop bar with sea views. The venue is accessible from the city centre and our central Nice hotels via public transport or taxi. The Stade de Nice is a short distance via public transport or taxi from the clubhouse.

Make your own way to the stadium, soaking up the atmosphere that comes only with the magic of major sporting tournaments, alternatively add a stadium transfer to your booking and we'll get you to the match. Stade de Nice will be 10 years old in 2023 and remains committed to sustainable development. It is the first stadium in Europe to produce more energy than it uses. The stadium is a few kilometers outside of the city and best accessed by Taxi or Public transport with tramway line 3 or Bus line 95 getting you there from the city centre.

Day at leisure

Walk along the Promenade des Anglais, enjoy a coffee stop on one of the many side street cafes, take a swim in the Mediterranean; there is plenty to do in Nice. However, if you want to venture a little further, Monaco is just a short train ride away or heading in the other direction Cannes awaits you! This evening your tour manager will host the group for a dinner - a wonderful way to mix as a group over some French cuisine.

Nice to Antibes

This morning we will make the short journey along the coast to Antibes where we have 3 nights to enjoy this most wonderful spot of the French Riviera. The ancient walled town of Antibes is one of the liveliest and prettiest on the Riviera with its relaxed beachy feel, thriving superyacht port and gorgeous old town of narrow cobbled streets, markets and cafes. Famous for being home to the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, Antibes certainly saw its fair share of glitz, glamour and a touch of the avant-garde through the 20th century.

Days at Leisure

With 2 full days in Antibes make sure to head out onto the beach and venture into the sparkling blue waters or, to experience more of the coast along Antibes, hire a yacht or book a boat trip. Situated in the Chateau Grimaldi where Picasso stayed for six months in 1946, The Musée Picasso, formerly the Château Grimaldi, is built upon the foundations of the ancient Greek town of Antipolis and is probably the most famous museum in Antibes and hosts a collection of works spanning Picasso's career.

Antibes to Lille

Check out of your hotel this morning. Departing Antibes we will drive to Nice airport for the flight up to Lille. In the north-east corner of France bordering Belgium, Lille has a unique identity stemmed by French art & culture and influenced by Flemish & Spanish inspiration. The city has a vibrant atmosphere coming from its population whose reputation is for being the kindest in France and for its abundance of “Estaminets” (local breweries).

Add to your match day experience by adding the Gullivers Clubhouse to your package. The Gullivers clubhouse will be hosted at the Café Oz in the vibrant neighbourhood of Vieux-Lille from 4pm. The venue is within walking distance of the city centre. Lille's two main stations are just a short walk away for onward connections to the Stade Pierre Mauroy.

Make your own way to the stadium, soaking up the atmosphere that comes only with the magic of major sporting tournaments, alternatively add a stadium transfer to your booking and we'll get you to the match. 6km outside of Lille Centre, Stade Pierre Mauroy is a ‘new-generation’, multi-functional, stadium which can be used in 5 different ways (sport and concerts). From central Lille you can use Metro Line 1 to “Cité Scientifique” before a short walk or Metro Line 2 to “Les Prés” and an express shuttle service to best reach the stadium.
