A weekend to remember at the Red Bull Ring
Experiencing the Austrian Grand Prix with Gullivers and hundreds of passionate F1 fans was a true bucket-list moment. Set against the stunning Styrian Alps, the Red Bull Ring offers not only high-octane racing but also jaw-dropping scenery, a vibrant fan atmosphere, and unforgettable moments on and off the track.
From the roaring jets of the Red Bull air shows to the dramatic wheel-to-wheel battles, this year’s Grand Prix was as thrilling as it was scenic. The epic McLaren showdown, unexpected DNFs, and the headline-grabbing Kimi Antonelli – Max Verstappen incident added a layer of drama that had fans buzzing all weekend. It’s safe to say: this is one of the most iconic and visually stunning events on the F1 calendar, and I’m already counting down the days until next year.
What was your favourite part of Vienna?
Although the race took centre stage, Vienna proved a perfect city to start the adventure. Clean, elegant, and effortlessly charming, it’s a cultural haven with a modern twist. From grand imperial buildings of the Baroque and Gründerzeit eras to trendy bars and world-class restaurants, the Austrian capital offered something for everyone. The hotels were excellent, the hospitality was warm, and the food? Outstanding.
My highlight of the trip: The Red Bull Ring
I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a number of circuits around the world, but there’s something truly special about the Red Bull Ring. Set in the hills, it allows spectators to see large portions of the track from multiple vantage points, rare in Formula 1. And with the Styrian Alps as a backdrop, it’s a setting unlike any other.
One standout feature of the weekend was the Red Bull air show, an incredible spectacle of precision flying. Fighter jets, helicopters, and stunt planes from the Flying Bulls and Red Bull Skydive Team put on an aerial display that left the crowd in awe.
How was the race?
Even before lights out on Sunday, the weekend had delivered its fair share of shocks. On Saturday, Liam Lawson surprised everyone by outqualifying both Red Bull Racing drivers, including Max Verstappen himself. Gabriel Bortoleto also turned heads by securing a spot in P8.
Come race day, McLaren fans were treated to a nail-biting battle as Lando Norris fended off teammate Oscar Piastri all the way to the chequered flag. Memories of Canada, where a similar battle ended with Lando in the wall, made the tension palpable.
On top of that, the headline moment: reigning world champion Max Verstappen knocked out on the first lap after a dramatic collision with Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli. Add to that Carlos Sainz’s delayed start and fiery pit lane incident, fans were treated to nonstop action.
