A bright and early start in Cardiff saw us fly on our charter aircraft to the beautiful city of Bordeaux. While the clients settled in to their hotel, myself, Rachel, Brian and Ray went to recce the stadium, the coach parking and the bar for our pre-match event.
Andy Legg, Barry Horne and Fran Donovan joined us on Friday night for a Q&A at our corporate client dinner - they gave us great insight and opinion into Wales' journey to the Euros, and had some entertaining stories to tell. We then watched the opening ceremony and the France v Romania game in the hotel bar.
Match day came, and the hotel lobby was a sea of red! We also had a few coach day trips and charter flight day trips joining us at the pre-match big bar event at Le Life, a bar in the middle of the historic old town. Andy, Barry and Fran again did a superb Q&A and it was onto the busses up the Sade Matmut Atlantique for the game. And what a game it was, with Wales beating Slovakia 2-1.
Our day trippers went back home jubilant, and our corporate clients and player families went back to the hotel to catch the rest of the England v Russia game. Sunday gave everyone a chance to explore more of Bordeaux and visit the fanzone before flying back to Cardiff. Roll on Lens!

Well, the Euros are over...a tournament full of surprises...how lucky I was to be a part of the Welsh surprise with Gullivers Sports Travel! From day 1 in Bordeaux when we played our first big international tournament since 1958 until the last match in Lyon...it was just magical! Watching an amazing team play the beautiful game...a bunch of guys who just embody what team spirit is all about. Accompanying a wonderful group of supporters between venues around France for ten days was one of the highlights of my long career in sports tourism...I couldn't have wished for a nicer bunch of people...fantastic venues...the friendliest coach drivers...all in all, a wonderful time. Some long drives between venues but spirits were always high in our cheerful group. Fantastic football, who will ever forget those goals in Lille? Partying at Mulligans in Lacanau, big night out in yet another Irish bar in Tours till the wee hours...the square in Montauban - so many great memories! DON'T TAKE ME HOME! PLEASE DON'T TAKE ME HOME!
