Welsh rugby team at Six Nations 2023

    • Wales won the inaugural Grand Slam in 1908.

     

    England

    • Have scored the most points in one match (80 points against Italy in 2001).
    • Have scored the most tries in one match (29 points in 2001).

     

    Scotland

    • Have never won the Championship title.
    • Most tries scored by a single player in a match is 5, by Scotland’s George Lindsay in 1887.

     

    Ireland

    • Have won the most Triple Crowns (6), which is awarded to the team that defeats all the other home nations.
    • Ronan O’Gara is the tournaments highest points scorer with 551 points.

     

    France

    • In 1977 the French team did not concede a try in their four matches.
    • The Giuseppe Garibaldi Trophy was designed by former French flanker- turned Sculptor- Jean-Pierre Rives.

     

    Italy

    • Have won the most Wooden Spoons (14 of the least welcomed accolade).
    • The longest anthem in the Six Nations, is the Italian’s Il Canto degli Italiani.
